The Golden State Warriors made their claim to the NBA title last night, ending the gruelling showdown between the California team and the Cleveland Cavaliers, CNN reports.

Tuesday night’s game was close, 105-92, with the Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Andrew Iguodala scoring 25 points each. Iguodala was named MVP of the series.

“They were all in it just to win,” Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr said of his team. “This is an amazing group of guys.”

It was the first time since 1975 that the team carried home an NBA title.

Cavaliers head coach David Blatt praised his team, although acknowledging the disappointment of missing out on the championship.
