NORFOLK
A developer from Northern Virginia plans to build a 17-story residential tower, a marina and a mixed-use building with space for parking and retail shops on vacant property it owns in Fort Norfolk.
Tarrants Bay LLC, based in Chantilly, outlined plans for the riverfront development in a rezoning request, which is expected to be discussed by Norfolk’s Planning Commission on Sept. 24.

CHESAPEAKE
The city’s first Petco store is opening this weekend on Hanbury Road.
A ribbon-cutting is planned for 8:55 a.m. Saturday at the store at 237 Hanbury Road East, according to the company’s website.

NORFOLK
A new grocery store coming to the Churchland section of Portsmouth in the fall is holding another job fair in Norfolk.
The Aldi job fair will be Sept. 3 at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel, 777 Waterside Drive, according to a news release from the company.
Potential employees can apply in person from 7 a.m. to noon and 2 to 7 p.m.
